Listening and understanding customer challenges and offering bespoke, cost-effective solutions is what we’re all about at Pure Lubrication and with a focus on the Quaker Houghton brand, Michael is here to provide technical solutions for customers, primarily in the industrial process/metal working industries across Scotland.
Michael has a vast amount of experience under his belt having served many years as a Lubrication Engineer and managing some major fluid care accounts across the country.
Michael’s move, coupled with our fantastic partnership with Quaker Houghton ensures Pure Lubrication can deliver all the benefits of world class Quaker Houghton products with a local service.

Brian McGarrity
We love it when people progress within the business and we’re delighted to see Brian step up to the position of Lubrication Engineer Team Lead.
Based at one of our major industrial customers, Brian has many years of experience in providing a first class service, ensuring the reliability of customer assets and supporting the customer in achieving their KPIs.
Brian is the perfect mentor for Shaun, supporting him with his training and development and the pair of them make the perfect team.
MD Simon Campbell says “This is a very exciting time for the Pure team. As we continue to grow as a business, it presents us with fantastic opportunities for the team as well as a chance to bring in new blood to add to our capabilities and service offerings. It’s great to see the team develop in line with our business and we look forward to doing more of the same over the coming months and years.”
Shaun Murtagh
Shaun has joined Pure Lubrication as part of the lubrication engineering team, helping to provide key industrial customers with customised reliability solutions.
Based in Ayrshire, Shaun came highly recommended to Pure and is a great fit for our growing team of Lubrication Engineers.
Outside of work, Shaun has an avid interest in football, having been involved in a football coaching academy for the past 5 years. Shaun has recently become a proud dad to a baby girl.
For a bit of fun and so we can all learn a bit more about Shaun, we posed a variety of questions to him and here are his responses:
1. What three words would you use to describe your role? – Meeting customers’ expectations
2. What do you like most about your job? – That it is very hands on
3. What is your biggest achievement to date – personal or professional? – Surviving Uni
4. If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor?- Walter Smith
5. If you could write a book about your life, what would the title be and why? – 3 things are certain in life: Death, taxes and Shaun losing bets
6. What’s a trip that changed you, and why? – Turkey when I was 6 due to a near death experience in a mud bath
7. What’s the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from? – What’s for you will never go by you
8. What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received? – That I have a beautiful daughter considering I’m not the prettiest
9. What’s one song or artist that you’re embarrassed to admit you like? – Will Smith – Miami
10. If you could only have three apps on your smartphone, which would you pick? – Twitter, SkySports and BT sports
