Armed Forces Covenant
Pure Lubrication are a proud supporter of The Armed Forces Covenant, for which we have been recognised with a Bronze award in the Employer Recognition Scheme. The Armed Forces Covenant is a pledge promoted by the government to treat people who serve or have served in the military, as well as their families, fairly, appreciating the value they are to our country.
Craig Conway, one of our Lubrication Engineers and a member of the British Army Reserves is fully supported by Pure to ensure he can fulfil his Army Reserve commitments and relative training, helping him acquire skills that he can apply in both his work and personal life.
What is The Armed Forces Covenant?
To those who proudly protect our nation, who do so with honour, courage, and commitment, the Armed Forces Covenant is the nation’s commitment to you.
It is a pledge that together we acknowledge and understand that those who serve or who have served in the armed forces, and their families, should be treated with fairness and respect in the communities, economy and society they serve with their lives.

What The Armed Forces Covenant means to me (Craig Conway, Lubrication Engineer Team Lead):
It definitely means a lot to me that Pure stands behind not only me, but also the armed forces in general. It enables me to help promote the work of the Army Reserves and I’m proud to be able to talk about this and the support I receive from Pure and in turn hopefully encourage other companies to do the same.
I have had an affiliation with the armed forces since I left the school, serving 6 years in the Royal Navy as a Marine Engineering Mechanic.
Once I left the regular forces I decided at a later stage to join the Army Reserves in which I have served for over 8 years now. With me being able to work for an employer who supports my time in the reserve forces means a lot to me as it gives me the opportunity to train and get the time off annually to do a 2-week camp and learn new skills. The skills I have learnt can be transferable and used in my civilian employment. It is also great to have the company be part of the armed forces covenant and to show people and other businesses the support they give to their employees for serving personnel.
Why I am doing it:
I am doing it because it brings me a sense of a different belonging out with my work, as you get to meet people from a host of different backgrounds and there is a great sense of camaraderie along with the social aspect. It also teaches me so many convertible skills I can use and utilise in my personal and work life, especially when you are pushed to your limits outside of your comfort zone.
You can approach and overcome fear head on, it teaches you a lot about yourself and other people where it especially teaches you some great leadership skills for life. You also get the opportunity to train to keep you physically and mentally fit and I also get the chance to carry out adventure training activities which are invaluable for a lot of things we do in training including kayaking, mountaineering and rock climbing amongst other activities.

Where it takes you:
It has taken me all around the world for training & operational reasons including Sierra Leone, the Gulf, Cyprus & Germany.
What Pure Say:
Pure are absolutely delighted to be part of the Armed Forces Covenant and have a serving member of the Army Reserves in our team. We fully appreciate the hard work and dedication that Craig puts into his role within the Army Reserves and our commitment as a company is to support him however we can to help facilitate his training which we in turn benefit from as Craig’s skills constantly develop. Knowing that Craig is trained and fully prepared to support our country when needed is something we are proud to acknowledge.
